Law director’s attendance questioned by challenger
ROCKY RIVER — In the hotly contested law director's race, both candidates’ qualifications have been scrutinized. The latest allegations comes from Democratic candidate Andrew Bemer, who claims the incumbent, David Matty, disregarded his electorate by splitting his time between Rocky River and Solon.

City officials seek natural sound barrier, not wall
NORTH OLMSTED — Mayor Thomas O’Grady would like county officials to build an earth mound as a sound barrier along Crocker-Stearns roads, not the 13-foot concrete noise barrier walls which are planned.

WESTLAKE — Mayor Dennis Clough said the proposed charter amendment recently placed on the ballot by council would allow the legislative body to set property taxes in order to fund the level of city services residents have come to expect.

Pier W sails in to port with sleek new look
Pier W, a Cleveland landmark restaurant for more than 40 years, returns to port after undergoing a $3.5 million makeover. The 150-seat restaurant has been closed since November to allow for the renovation.
