Better
late than never, River celebrates WSC crown
Last
month, Rocky River high school's boys basketball team appeared to
be unravelling. But over the next several weeks, the Pirates pulled
it together. The comeback culminated in a recent 64-48 home win over Fairview that not only
won the regular season WSC conference championship but also restored
the team's mojo heading into the sectional tournament this week.

The
Village is quite the scene for high school rockers
There's
something about the culture of Bay Village, especially the popularity
of the high school's band and music programs, that make it a hotbed
of teen rock.
Familiar
voices to announce Tribe games in 2006
Longtime
Cleveland Indians announcers Mike Hegan, Rick Manning and John Sanders
will broadcast the 130 regular season games carried by SportsTime
Ohio, the new television network licensed to carry the Tribe’s games.
WKYC sports director Jim Donovan will do play-by-play on the 20
games telecast on Channel 3. But whether Tribe fans will be able to watch their
team on their cable or satellite systems by opening day is still
an open question.
