Bay teen determined to bowl over painful disease
BAY VILLAGE — Joey Melenick, a seventh-grader at Bay Middle School, marked his 13th birthday by holding a fundraiser for his class at Bay Lanes. The benefit rasied money to combat Crohn’s Disease, a disroder of the digestive tract which Lelenick suffers from.

Financial pinch results in layoffs, demotions
FAIRVIEW PARK — Due to sudden cuts in city revenue, a reorganization at City Hall has been instituted by Mayor Eileen Patton. Three full-time employees and five part-time employees are being laid off to eliminate a $1.2 million budget deficit.

Super Librarian Nancy Pearl on her way to Fairview
Nancy Pearl, author of the popular "Book Lust" series, appears April 10 at a special event at the Fairview Park Public Library. “My talk will be about the pleasures and perils of a life of reading,” Pearl told West Life.
