photoKnoble indicted, plans to resign
ROCY RIVER — Mayor William Knoble was indicted Thursday on two misdemeanor counts of improper use of a public office. The mayor's brother and son had been hired to work at the Rocky River Wastewater Treatment Plant.

City Council adds lawyer to ranks
ROCKY RIVER — City Council announced that attorney Thomas Hunt, 36, will fill the vacancy to be created when Ward 1 Councilman Robert Frost’s leaves May 31.

Fairview resident makes ‘Deal’
photoFAIRVIEW PARK — Allyson Thadeus-Zappe's recent appearance on the NBC game show "Deal or No Deal" was the latest milestone in what has been an extraordinary year for the 26-year-old. In January, the cystic fibrosis patient successfully underwent a double lung transplant.

Fun run draws 400
The second annual St. Angela Merici Fun Run was held Saturday in 50- degree sunny weather. Over 400 participants ran or walked in the 5K or one-mile race to raise money for the Shapedown program of Fairview Hospital, which fights childhood obesity. Overall winner in the men’s division was Keith Burns of Minerva, Ohio, with a time of 15:56. Jordan Sowecke of North Olmsted won the women’s division with a time of 19:25.
