Residents,
officials fight foreclosures
WESTSHORE Nobody want to live next to an abandoned
house. Local governments are responding to citizens' concerns by more
closely tracking vacant properties. And county programs that help
those on the brink of losing their homes have gained publicity.

favors tax-sharing plan
BAY VILLAGE The Bay Village mayor is asking
council members to support a plan for sharing income taxes with
other communities when businesses move from one city to another
within the county.
Group
plans arts center at old red brick schoolhouse
WESTLAKE
Saying that Westlake residents are underserved in the arts,
a group of residents are hoping to raise $2.9 million to renovate
the old red brick schoolhouse on Dover Center Road and make it the
headquarters of a thriving area arts scene.

Rockets
blast into state final-four
Despite
losing several seniors to graduation, Bay's boys soccer team reloaded
instead of retooled. The 21-1 Rockets earned a second consecutive
trip to the state final four with its 1-0 win over Lima Shawnee in
the regional championship game.

Barcelona’s
art showcased
in Cleveland Museum of Art exhibit
Although
its regular gallaries are closed for renovations, the Cleveland
Museum of Art now features the art of Barcelona from 1868 to 1939.
The special exhibition "Barcelona & Modernity" features
more than 350 pieces in a variety of media by 90 different artists.
