Schools OK design work
BAY VILLAGE — The school board has contracted with an architecture firm to prepare designs for an upgrade of Bay High's athletic stadium. One possibility — adding artificial turf to the field.

‘Friendly’ PODS rules sought
photoFAIRVIEW PARK — Fearing proposed regulation of their leased storage units will cost them money, local investors of PODS asked City Council members to make sure any ordinance restricting their use is “business-friendly.”

Temporary storage bill drafted
ROCKY RIVER — As the use of temporary portable storage units, such as those provided by the PODS company, gains popularity across the Westshore, resident complaints over the safety and aesthetics of the heavy metal holders also are increasing. Now Rocky River, like Fairview Park, is looking at regulating the use of such containers within its borders.

Westlake won the boys half of the 42nd Fairview Relays swim meet by 11 points over former SWC rival Rocky River. But more impressive was the fact that Demons swimmers broke two 41-year-old records records.

Cleveland memories relived
in Huntington’s ‘Christmas at Aunt Ida’s’

Plain Dealer columnist Dick Feagler once wrote an article of his Cleveland childhood memories which became our local “Night Before Christmas.” Playwright Anne McEvoy used additional family material supplied by Feagler to expand the column into the full-length play currently on stage at Bay's Huntington Playhouse. West Life theater critic Art Thomas gives his review.
