— Local officials have voiced objections to AT&T’s plans to expand
new Internet and video services due to the numerous, large utility
boxes the new technology requires.
But a ruling by the Federal Communications Commission last month may
make efforts by local communities to regulate companies competing
in the cable TV field — like AT&T — more difficult.
