GETTING
COLD WAITING FOR A HOT BURRITO
Despite frigid temperatures, hundreds of area youth converged
on the new Chipotle Mexican Grill at Crocker Park Feb. 1 for
a free burrito and soft drink as part of the restaurant’s grand
opening. Store manager Andy Begue said Chipotle gave out close
to 2,500 burritos. “It just shows how important a good burrito

Glenn
master plan would redevelop Fairview buildings
WESTSHORE A new master plan drafted by Glenn
Research Center employees would bring significant changes to the
NASA campus, including the redevelopment of its property north of
Brookpark Road into a public outreach area. The centerpiece of this
section of the campus would be an Aerospace Education Center and
a relocated visitor center.
Strickland:
Ohio must pursue alternative fuels
WESTSHORE
Gov. Ted Strickland said American needs an energy policy
that frees consumers from the unstable gasoline prices and provides
energy independence. The alternative fuel research going on at the
Glenn Research Center is vital to such a policy, said the governor
during a Jan. 30 visit to the NASA facility.

work starts soon
WESTSHORE Land will be cleared this week in
preparation for the long-planned $13.29 million road project which
will link I-90 and I-480. More than 200 area residents attended
a Jan. 31 meeting to learn more about the project.

agreements discussed with city of Cleveland
ROCKY RIVER City Council considers a plan
in which ownership of all water mains would be transferred
to the Cleveland Water Department in exchange for a commitment for
more capital improvement spending.
Fund
set up for daughters of fire victim
WESTLAKE No one can reverse the Jan. 7 fire that took the life
of 49-year-old Debbie Porter. But some family friends have established
a fund to help pay off the funeral costs which her teen daughters
find themselves responsible for.
