Get your green on for St. Patty's day

Get your green on this St. Patrick’s Day. Parade out to one of these establishments to enjoy a bit of Irish hospitality.

A real live leprechaun will host the St. Patrick’s Day festivities at the Ironwood Café, 688 Dover Center Road in Westlake. Ironwood’s leprechaun will be available for photo opportunities. The café will open at 8 a.m. with a breakfast buffet served until 11 a.m. Pitchers of green beer will be poured for $6 all day and happy hour prices will be in effect until 7 p.m. Corned beef sandwiches will be added to the menu. The doors open at 10 a.m. for “Kegs and Eggs” at Savannah Bar and Grille, 30676 Detroit Road in Westlake. Musical entertainment starts at 4:30 p.m. with McCarthy and Morrison. An Irish Pipe Band and Irish dancers will perform at 7 p.m., followed by the Tony Koussa Jr. Band playing blues and rock at 10 p.m. Menu specials will include corned beef and cabbage dinners, corned beef sandwiches and Reuben sandwiches. Reservations are not being taken for St. Patrick’s Day, and there is no cover charge for the entertainment. The Savannah offers an extensive menu of Lenten seafood specials every Wednesday and Friday, including an all-you-can-eat fish fry, Lake Erie perch, walleye, Cajun catfish and grouper. Irish soda bread, cutout shamrock cookies and raisin scones are just some of the treats available at Elmwood Bakery, 15204 Madison Avenue in Lakewood, for St. Patrick’s Day. The bakers are also creating petit fours and cupcakes prettily iced with green frosting, spring daffodil cakes and Lenten hot cross buns. Phone (216) 221-4338 to place your order.

The St. Patrick’s Day menu at the Linden Tavern, 19865 Detroit Road in Rocky River, starts with Chef Kevin’s scotch broth, a light chicken-based soup with lamb. Diners can also enjoy Chef Kevin’s award-winning lamb stew, corned beef boiled dinners, corned beef sandwiches and Reubens, served for lunch and dinner. Call (440) 333-1609.

Corned beef and cabbage will be on the lunch and dinner menu for St. Patrick’s Day and for the preceding Friday at Mahle’s Restaurant, 24945 Detroit Road in Westlake.

Mahle’s is also featuring fish fries on Fridays during Lent and they will be open Easter Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Phone (440) 899-6602 for reservations.

Have your corned beef on delicious rye bread from Becker’s Bakery on St. Patrick’s Day. The bakery will also be offering donuts and cupcakes decorated for the holiday, as well as shamrock cookies. Becker’s is open from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day. Call (440) 734-9856.

Picasso’s Restaurant, 26920 Center Ridge Road in Westlake, opens at 7 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day. They will be serving $5 corned beef sandwiches, $8 corned beef and cabbage dinners and $1 green beer all day. The Kahlua Girls will be there to welcome you from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A DJ will be taking your musical requests. Phone (440) 899-9119.

Arturo’s Restaurant, 26679 Brookpark Road Extension, will open at 11 a.m., serving corned beef and cabbage, corned beef sandwiches, Reubens, lamb stew and green beer for lunch and dinner. Call (440) 777-2420 for reservations.

Arrabiatta’s, 600 Dover Center Road in Bay Village, has added corned beef and cabbage dinners, corned beef sandwiches and pierogies to its menu of Italian favorites for St. Patrick’s Day. Drink specials will include $2 Killian’s, $5 martinis and $5 green frozen leprechaun drinks. The restaurant will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
