Hilliard
bike lane to formally open April 1
WESTLAKE
The city of Westlake will formally open the Hilliard Boulevard bike
lane on Sunday with a ribbon cutting by Mayor Dennis Clough at 2
p.m. followed by a ceremonial bike ride. Festivities will take place
at the Clague Park parking lot entrance on Hilliard Boulevard just
west of Clague Road.
Residents are
invited to join in the half-mile ride, which will proceed west on
the bike lane to the Roman Road entrance to Clague Park, then through
the park and back to the parking lot where the ride began. If you
would like to participate, please arrive with your bicycle at the
Clague Park parking lot on Hilliard Boulevard just west of Clague
Road by 1:45 p.m. in time for the 2 p.m. ribbon cutting.

discontinues maintenance of school fields
Arrangement was only temporary,
mayor said
WESTLAKE Mayor Dennis Clough said the city had agreed to maintain
the school fields during the summer months while the district was
under financial pressure waiting for voters to pass an operating
levy. The fields are used mainly by recreation leagues that
are independent of both the city and school district.

an evening-only quiet zone from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m.
during which train engineers would not be obliged to blow
a train's horn.

Heritage
Park to add new members to Hall of Fame
The
Cleveland Indians established a Hall of Fame in 1951 to recognize
individuals who made a significant impact during their career with
the team. In 2007, those members of the Hall of Fame will be
forever recognized in the brand new Heritage Park, which will debut
on Opening Day, vs. Seattle on April 6.
