Lee
Burneson students recall turmoil of Civil War
WESTLAKE For the 17th consecutive year,
eighth-grade boys at Lee Burneson Middle School dressed as Union
or Confederate soldiers while girls dressed as proper ladies
of the era Friday evening. The occasion was the Blue and Gray
Ball, a Lee Burneson tradition in which students perform waltzes
and reels of the 19th Century.

to school board: Deal or no deal?
WESTLAKE City
Council decides to renew its previous offer of $1.9 million for 42
acres of property owned by the school district. But the offer is on
the table for only 30 days.
Compromise
should end Bradley Bay disputes
BAY VILLAGE Bradley Bay Health Center has
reached an agreement with neighbors who had opposed the facility's
expansion for over two years. The agreement consists of landscaping
that will buffer the complex from nearby homes.

Vitou takes home four firsts in district meet
Last
week the Rocky River freshman joined an elite group of athletes who
can claim four first-place finishes in a district competition, as
she won the 100, 200, long jump and was the anchor leg of the winning
4x400 relay team.
