WESTSHORE — People of all ages came out to Crocker Park's two megabookstores last Friday evening in eager anticipation of the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

Max's Deli to relocate from Detroit Road location

FAIRVIEW PARK — The deli, which closed at the end of June after 25 years on Detroit Road, will move into a 4,000-square-foot space at the new shopping center. Also coming — The Avenue, GameStop, Mattress Warehouse and six more.
Fairview welcomes back Summerfest with larger crowds
photoFAIRVIEW PARK — Excellent July weather and large crowds welcomed back Summerfest, Fairview Park’s annual summer festival, following a one-year hiatus. Many community organizations set up tables during Summerfest and sold various items as a fund-raiser for their organizations.
Sound barriers to go up in spring
NORTH OLMSTED — Mayor Thomas O’Grady said the actual construction of the sound barrier walls along I-480 should be done in the spring of 2008.

Magnificat girls take top honors at OGGF
Led by Dana Schwartz, who fired an 81, the Blue Streaks won the the 11th annual Ohio Girls Foundation Tournament at Avon Oaks Country Club with a team score of 341. St. Joseph Academy was the next top team, placing fourth with a 373, while Westlake shot a 379 to take home fifth-place honors.

Local glass artist turns talents to designing guitar
photoJudy Kean, a stained glass and mosaic artist who has been working in the medium since 1984, knew very little about guitars. But she liked the idea of creating public art for GuitarMania, a community project which has raised $1.5 million for the United Way and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s education fund.
