The Westlake Police Department, located at 27300 Hilliard Boulevard, will host an open house Aug. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. Station tours, child fingerprinting and an opportunity to view police vehicles up close will be offered.

The police station open house is being held in conjunction with the National Night Out Against Crime.

Capt. Guy Turner, spokesperson the Westlake Police, said that most people who encounter officers at the police station do so while either as a victim of a crime or handcuffed as a suspect. He hopes people will join officers under more agreeable conditions at the Aug. 7 open house.
