Area youth audition for reality TV series
WESTLAKE — Hundreds of children from the North Coast, seeking fame as the newest reality TV stars, auditioned Aug. 1 for the CBS series “Kid Nation” at Crocker Park.
Sutherland seeks Browns' support for Medical Mart
BAY VILLAGE — Mayor Debbie Sutherland, president of the Cuyahoga County Mayors and Managers Association, recently attended a Cleveland Browns training camp practice session. She took the opportunity to talk with other municipal leaders and Browns officials about the Medical Mart and Convention Center being proposed by many county officials.

BAY VILLAGE — The Bay Village police sergeant facing charges in Rocky River of using illegal steroids, domestic violence and having a dangerous animal, has applied to the state for a medical disability, officials said.
No uproar over trash contract
WESTLAKE — The city's 2002 decision to privatize trash collection caused an uproar that went as far as the Ohio Supreme Court. But the recent awarding of a contract that outsources garbage pickup for another three-to-five years caused little contoversy.
