school marks Fairview renaissance
FAIRVIEW
PARK Gilles-Sweet Elementary School, one of the two crowning
jewels of the Gemini Project, opened to students in kindergarten through
grade six Monday. The day before hundred of students, their parents
and community leaders dedicated and toured the building. |
Third
ambulance will benefit city in long run, officials say
ROCKY RIVER The Fire Department purchased a
third ambulance for $133,000. Safety Service Director James Linden
says the new vehicle will reduce wear and tear on the other two and
give the city's paramedics more redundancy.

officer's book examines notorious Cleveland mobster
Rick
Porrello, a local veteran police officer and author, will present
a history of organized crime in Cleveland Thursday evening at the
Fairview Park Library Branch.
His book about the notorious Irish-American mobster Danny Greene,
"To Kill the Irishman," has been optioned as a movie.
