The Cuyahoga
County Board of Elections voted 3 to 0 Sept. 24 to uphold a protest
by the Westlake school board regarding an issue on the November
ballot. The decision blocks a city-backed advisory vote that would
ask residents if they want to rezone 42 acres of district-owned
property on Bradley Road for public recreation. The city has sought
the land for baseball and soccer fields but has been unable to reach
a deal with the school board.
Read more about this in the Sept. 26 issue of West Life.

Beck’s
‘Reflections’ is Peggy Lee’s introspection
No
fewer than four performers portray singer Peggy Lee in "Reflections,"
now playing at Lakewood's Beck Center. Through a dozen vignettes,
jumbled as they would be in a real-life stream-of-consciousness,
the audience sees Peggy's life revealed through the songs of Jerry
Leiber and Mike Stoller.
