Help Westlake students while getting a clean car

On Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (weather permitting), #1 Express Carwash & Detail Center will host a fund-raiser for WHBS-TV, which is part of Westlake High School. For a donation, WHBS students will clean the windows and mirrors, wipe out doorjambs, and vacuum your vehicles. All proceeds will benefit the WHBS-TV Scholarship Fund.

WHBS-TV provides Westlake High School students the opportunity to learn the facets of the broadcasting world.  Under the tutelage of Tony Hoty, Executive Director of the program since 1992, WHBS-TV has gone to 24 - hour programming seven days a week. Tony oversaw the construction of a $3 million dollar studio complex for WHBS. WHBS-TV has received two Emmy nominations, 12 national communications awards, now broadcasts Sports Team Ohio throughout the state, and is now the largest high school broadcasting station in Ohio, and in the top 25 in the U.S. When Tony first took over the program, 10 students a year were enrolled. Now, 200 students are enrolled in the program every school year. Over 60 students have received scholarships to colleges and universities in the last 10 years, and 23 students have joined the professional ranks of broadcasting in camera crews, production and broadcasting. #1 Express Carwash & Detail Center has been a proud sponsor of WHBS-TV since 2002.

#1 Express Carwash, uses the latest in carwash technology. The 150-foot express tunnel uses innovative technology to measure the actual size of a car to ensure a complete wash from bumper to bumper. The combination of high-pressure water, soft-cloth, safe soaps and polishes, and spot free rinse produces a clean and brilliant shine without damaging the paint or finish. Thirteen high-powered touch-free blowers, creating over 200 horsepower of effectiveness, dry the car. With each express carwash purchased, all customers receive a receipt that is a coupon for up to $4 off on their next visit with the same vehicle within 30 days. For the do-it-yourself washer, there are three high pressure self serve bays, eight vacuums, and over 20 car care products offered in the vending area.

#1 Express Carwash & Detail Center is located at 25247 Detroit Road, just east of Columbia on the south side of the street. The Express Carwash hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting).  The self-serve bays are open 5 a.m. to midnight daily. The #1 Express Detail Center offers comprehensive detailing services in the 4,000 square foot detail building. Affordable express, interior, exterior and/or full detail packages are available, as well as hand washes. Additional services include: fabric and leather protection, paint protection, overspray removal and Dent Wizard’s “paintless” dent repair process. Dent Wizard is typically one-third to one-half the cost of traditional repair methods, and estimates are free.
