Splashes mark completion of Gemini Center
FAIRVIEW PARK — The leisure pool and outdoor splash area, the last sections of the $19-million dollar recreation center to be finished, is now open. About 400 people attended a luau Aug. 13 to celebrate the opening.

ROCKY RIVER — Marine Lance Corporal Daniel R. Scherry’s memory was given a lasting tribute last Saturday, with the dedication of a memorial at Linden Park. Scherry died in an accident while serving in Iraq 16 months ago.
Schools boot up new technology for school year
ROCKY RIVER — At Goldwood Primary School, iBook laptops previously issued to teachers have been replaced with new Windows laptops.
And at Kensington Intermediate School, each teacher will have a new Windows PC desktop.
