Flammable materials left on roof
ROCKY RIVER —
The cuase of the Aug. 6 Manor House condominiums fire is still officially under investigation. However, workers re-tarring the roof had put all of their materials in a pile on a roof, which according to witnesses, was the same spot where the fire took place around 2 p.m.
Court rejects appeal on fire ballot issue
BAY VILLAGE — The Ohio Eighth District of Appeals said the language of an initiative petition was misleading. As a result, a ballot issue that would have voters decide on minimum staffing levels in the fire department will not appear on the November ballot.
Teachers start year with new technology
WESTLAKE — Each classroom at Lee Burneson had a mounted screen installed on which teachers can project content from their computer screens. The new technology is designed toi prepare students for the 21st century workplace.
