New
owner of Animal Health Center of North Olmsted (formally Barton-Lorain
Animal Hospital) Dr. Carrie Baumann is no stranger to animals. Her
father was also a veterinarian and Dr. Baumann herself has 11 years
of experience.
She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1997
and has cared for pets in Westlake, Elyria, Berea and bought the
place of her own in July. In the practice, she mainly cares for
companion pets, but has experience with large animals such as horses
and cattle. Dr. Baumann has also shared her knowledge with the community
as a clinical instructor for surgery at the Stautzenberger College
vet tech program, and additionally has spayed and neutered animals
for the Cleveland APL.

Animal Health Center of North Olmsted is a family.
Because Dr. Baumann is the only doctor at the hospital, each animal
receives the personalized care he or she deserves. The friendly,
experienced team treats the pets like their own. Guests are happy
to see that the smaller scale of the business allows for extra attention
to each animal’s history and for the staff to keep up with patients’
stories.
She recently made some upgrades to the practice, including
updating the in-house laboratory along with medications. The center
is also updating its look with some redecorating. Dr. Baumann said
her husband is doing some landscaping and they are painting.
Dr. Baumann provides preventative medicine, soft tissue
and orthopedic surgery, sick care, senior wellness, health care
profiles and more. Mostly she cares for dogs and cats, but occasionally
pocket pets, like rabbits.
The staff at Animal Health Center of North Olmsted
includes two licensed technicians and two receptionists who have
been there since the original owner.
The Animal Health Center is conveniently located at
30732 Lorain Rd. near the west end of Lorain Road in North Olmsted
(next to Alexander’s). Dr. Baumann said all are welcome to stop
in and see the place. The center is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.
to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon. Call (440) 777-4900 for more
information.
