PARK In her State of the City report, Mayor Eileen Patton said
that economic redevelopment and the growth of the city's tax base
have been important components of her administration's efforts to
remake Fairview Park since taking office.

The city continues to prosper with controlled growth, low tax
rates and an expanding business community, the mayor said in his annual
report. But the city is experiencing a decrease in revenue due to
the downturn in the economy.
Poll:
Government still viewed as secretive by many Since
2006, the percentage of adults who believe the federal government
to be somewhat or very secretive has grown steadily from 62
percent in 2006 to 74 percent in 2008. The latest survey, conducted
by newspaper editors in conjunction with Sunshine Week, finds 73 percent
calling government secretive.
