Dover road work beginning
WESTSHORE — The resurfacing work is scheduled to go from the Bay-Westlake border to Lake Road.
Project officials estimate the work should be completed in August.
Storefront renovation in full force
ROCKY RIVER — The Woods is one River business that plans to make a major renovation of its building front, including a new roof, Koran said. After the $20,000 project is completed, owner Chad Chillemi will get back around $6,000.
Girl power wins Parkside solar car races
photoWESTLAKE — As part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Junior Solar Sprint program, sixth-graders designed and built solar-powered vehicles and raced them on a 20-meter course. Students received a kit with the motor, axel, wheels and solar panel but had to build the vehicle's body.

Athletes from the Westshore area brought back four state titles upon completion of the annual OHSAA Track And Field Championships in Columbus. Bay sophomore Bridget Doughty finished second in the 100 hurdles. But she dominated a strong field to win the 300 hurdles with a career best time of 43.53.
