Cadillac Escalade 2WD Platinum Hybrid

Generally,
when we think of Hybrid cars and SUV’s like the Toyota Prius, Honda
Insight and Ford Escape, we tend to forget that there are large
SUVs like the Lexus 400h. But, there are even larger vehicles that
use this gas saving system such as this week’s Cadillac Escalade
Hybrid with 2wd. We had the Platinum Edition, which, with all of
the options came to a whopping $84,935. The gas mileage is rated
at 20 mpg/city and 21 mpg/highway.
So, what kind of deal is that when the regular gasoline
version is only $60,985 and gets 12/19? The base price on the Hybrid
is $71,915 and so for an extra $11,000 you get just a few miles
per gallon? I’m not sure that very many people are willing to spend
that kind of money. But, with all of the options the Platinum Escalade
Hybrid is a very impressive choice. It’s basically a GMC Yukon Denali
and just loaded with great features to make driving a truly delicious
way to go.
But, it is very large even with its standard length.
ESV models may be had with a longer wheelbase. In any event, there’s
nothing lacking in its comfort, convenience and performance with
the 6.0 liter ohv V8 engine paired with an electric motor that gives
a healthy 332 horsepower tied to a CVT automatic transmission, making
for a very silent runner.
Your commanding view of the road requires getting
up to your seat via a running board that automatically comes out
when you open the door. Once seated, the wide, comfortable leather
seats embrace you and you face a dashboard with all major controls
within easy reach. The navigation system has a large, easy to read
touch screen and it also shows audio functions. The second row seats
fold and tumble at the touch of a button and the third row demands
a low crouch to enter. With all seats folded, cargo space is greatly
enhanced and the power liftgate with liftglass is a pleasant addition.
All available safety features are in place here.
In spite of its size, I was always eager to get into
the Caddy and feel like King of the Road.
