Suspect
sought in abduction attempt
NORTH OLMSTED
Police are looking for a male suspect in an apparent abduction and/or
rape attempt in the Brookpark and Grace roads area shortly after 10
p.m. July 12. A 19-year-old woman was walking home alone when the
suspect came up behind her and grabbed at her, police said. |
Lasko
wants debate
NORTH OLMSTED Mayoral
contender John Lasko is seeking a debate with opponent Kevin Kennedy
in addition to the previously arranged Sept. 17 candidate forum. However
Kennedy has said he will do only one event and not two. |
NASA’s
visitor center likely to close
WESTSHORE
Unless
plans change, NASA’s Glenn Research Center plans to close its popular
visitor center, perhaps by the end of the year. In a statement, Howard Ross, Glenn’s acting director
of external programs, cited budgetary reasons for the likely closure. |

G. Komen for the Cure have grown in number over the past three
seasons This past spring, for example, the Fairview and Rocky River
baseball teams put together an event called Strikeout For The Cure
during one of their regular season matchups to fight breast cancer.
