“Moonlight
in the City,” a benefit party on Sept. 19, celebrated the staff
and many accomplishments of Lutheran Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic
facility.
The magical setting for an evening of elegance was
the legendary Silver Grille, located on the tenth floor of the Higbee
Building downtown. More than 285 guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and
a buffet dinner catered by The Ritz-Carlton Cleveland. Some of the
foods served during the evening, such as the Welsh rarebit appetizer,
were prepared from original Silver Grille recipes.
Plain Dealer Minister of Culture Michael Heaton, program
emcee, introduced Dr. Ted Castele, chair emeritus of the Community
West Foundation. Program speakers also included Dr. David Perse,
president of Lutheran Hospital, and Fred DeGrandis, president of
Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospitals.
Benefit committee chairpersons for “Moonlight in the
City” were Dr. David Perse, Dr. Mark Frankel and Susan Schrantz.
Silent and live auctions included a seven-day trip
to Paris, a week’s stay at a condo at Lake Tahoe, a weekend in New
York City and a weekend in Las Vegas.
Lutheran Hospital is an acute-care facility in Ohio
City, with specialties in orthopaedics and spine, behavioral health
and chronic wound care.
