Meeting
on dog
shooting cancelled
WEB UPDATED 4PM THUR MAY 6
WESTLAKE A Saturday public meeting on the March shooting of
a pet dog by a police officer was cancelled late Thursday afternoon.
Police had tentatively scheduled the meeting for 9 a.m. Saturday at
Westlake City Hall. According to a police statment, the meeting was
cancelled on the advice of the city law department. Law Director John Wheeler said Thursday he has not
yet had a chance to fully review a police investigation of the incident. |

protest doctor’s dismissal
WESTLAKE About 50 protestors demonstrated in front of St. John
Medical Center Sunday afternoon to protest the termination of
Dr. George Randt’s contract with Cuyahoga Physicians Network.
Randt was reporteldy dismissed from his practice due to "lack
of productivity." |

continue upswing with win over Warriors

offense cast a dark cloud over Fairview, erupting for 16 hits and
taking advantage of three Fairview errors in a stunning 17-5, five
inning win. The lopsided win allowed the Pirates to move to 10-7 overall
