Fire
in Westlake
Firefighters
go through the remains of a Shadow Creek Drive house Tuesday
morning. The early morning fire destroyed half of a duplex
in the Fairways Villa development off Center Ridge Road. No

Gun’s
origins sought in apparent murder-suicude
BAY VILLAGE Police recovered a .45 caliber handgun next to the
right hand of Michael Rothgery, 42. His body was found dead with a
gunshot wound to the head Saturday afternoon in the backyard of his
Russell Road home. His wife, Mary “Molly” Rothgery, was found dead
in a TV room of the house covered with an afghan. |
Main
project of Glenn’s
20-year master plan
now under construction
WESTSHORE The planned Centralized Office Building has been designed
to be certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. The structure
is part of Glenn’s master plan, which calls for the consolidation
of facilities. That means the NASA campus will have fewer but more
efficient and environmentally sustainable structures two decades from
now, officials said. |

to Tuesday's special primary.
The
edition includes profiles of the candidates and background on
the historic change in Cuyahoga County government. Copies are
available at newsstands now. |

Nature
and Science Center
shoots for stars with annual event
BAY VILLAGE The Lake Erie Nature and Science Center's annual benefit
takes place Sept. 11 with the theme “Discover
the Cosmos.” Catherine Timko, the center's director, said the Walter
R. Schuele planetarium will be featured during the event. |
North
Olmsted collaborates with Wal-mart for day of service
NORTH OLMSTED Sept.
11 will be marked this year with a service program in which volunteers
paint fire hydrants throughout the city. Wal-mart is giving the city
$3,100 for supplies and T-shirts for volunteers. The city of North
Olmsted will supply the paint.. Any money left over will be donated
to the North Olmsted Food Pantry.

match against Columbus St. Francis DeSales last season. Westlake and North Olmsted had banner seasons, tying
for the Southwestern Conference crown and meeting up again in the
Division I district championship match. West Life's Jim Horvath previews
the coming soccer season.

Smooth
transition in the spatial relationship in this garden
The
zinnias are grand in the North Olmsted yard recently visited by
Thea Steinmetz. Snapdragons and New Guinea impatiens are interspersed
in several locations on the property. The pink knockout roses are
still in full bloom.
