Bicentennial
celebration
resounds with fun
BAY VILLAGE As more than 2,500 people looked on, the weekend full
of events wrapped up as the 1800s replica cupola placed on the
Community House a few days earlier was lit up along with one
burst of fireworks. |

Police:
Liptrap returned some money
FAIRVIEW
PARK Kevin Liptrap, the campus principal at the high school
and middle School, turned an undisclosed amount of money over to authorities
shortly after resigning Oct. 5, police said. Liptrap had been confronted by school officials earlier
that day after shortages were discovered in student activity funds.

honors former Beatle Lennon
WESTLAKE Although she was born long after Beatlemania swept
America in the 60s, and after Lennon was murdered in December 1980,
Westlake native Lauren Voiers played a big role in the musician’s
70th birthday tribute. |
Force
opens location at former River Oaks Racquet Club
ROCKY RIVER Force
Indoor Sports has opened at the former River Oaks Racquet Club on
Center Ridge Road.
The renovated facility will feature two 90-yard-by-40-yard
indoor turf fields and five indoor tennis courts. |

scores early, often to take out Bay
If
you like offense, Bay Memorial Stadium was the place to be Friday
night. Points went up on the scoreboard like there was no
tomorrow. Visiting Rocky River scored 21 points in the second quarter
to take a big halftime lead, then held on to win a 53-34 shootout
over the Rockets. |

Fourteen
lucky Crocker Park residents enjoy a spectacular view of a rooftop
garden from their windows and balconies. Although not open to the
public, but part of it can be seen from the north end of the third
and fourth floor of the Main Street garage.
