A fawn stuck in a sewer grate behind a local restuarant was loaned some much needed helping hands May 31. Via their Facebook page, North Olmsted police said they normally tell residents, they should leave baby deer alone this time of year. They made an exception for a young deer trapped last week behind Sittoo’s Pitas & Salad, 24930 Lorain Road. The owner called to say the animal was stuck in a sewer grate behind the business and seemed unable to free itself. Officers and North Olmsted service workers arrived and worked together to free the baby. An unidentified service worker is shown here holding the freed animal. Police said the mother stood by just a few feet away as the rescue took place. Both mom and baby left the scene happy.
