City Council has unanimously voted to adopt the conditional use permit for a drive-thru development plan for a new Chick-fil-A in the Promenade at Crocker Park.

The restaurant will seat 82 people indoors, 24 people outdoors and has a stacked drive-thru that has the capacity to hold 49 vehicles.

The building, which used to be a TGI Fridays, is being renovated to create the Chick-fil-A.

James Bedell, director of planning and economic development, said the drive-thru is designed for heavy traffic patterns.

However, some residents raised concerns for how busy and noisy the area could potentially be for people living in residential areas near the new restaurant.

“Let’s give some residents some peace and quiet,” resident Daniel White said.
