If you live in Avon Lake, it’s time to Deck the House for the third annual holiday lights competition sponsored by the Avon Lake Recreation Department.

“If you take holiday décor seriously, putting up lights as a family affair, you can compete for bragging rights this year — and win a prize, too," said Recreation Director Tim Pinchek. (The prize has yet to be decided.)

The contest is being held to find the best holiday light displays in the city. There is no fee to enter.

“Put up a display at your home or business within Avon Lake. Take a picture of your work and submit it to the Avon Lake Parks and Recreation office by Dec. 9," Pinchek said.

Here are the rules and how to submit your photo to the Deck the House holiday lighting contest:

· The contest is open to all residents and businesses in Avon Lake.

· Each entrant must decorate their house up to Dec. 9, 2020.

· By submitting an entry, contestants grant the Avon Lake Parks and Recreation Department permission and authority to use the pictures in any reasonable advertising or promotional activities.

Photo submissions should include a photograph of the decorated house or business. Families and groups in the pictures are welcome. Also include family name and address.

Email photos to alrec@avonlake.org or drop off the photo at the Avon Lake Recreation Department, 150 Avon Belden Road.

Voting will take place Dec. 11-15. The winner will be announced at noon Dec. 15.
