A North Ridgeville man was cited for disorderly conduct after he got hot about the coffee at the Lorain Road Burger King drive-through window and threw a bag of food at a worker.
Police were called to the restaurant April 29 about a driver who became upset and after speaking with two workers, threw his bag of food back through the window, hitting a manager in the chest, police said.
Witnesses said the 59-year-old man began his tirade while getting his food. He yelled at one worker at the drive-through window about the coffee, prompting the worker to get a manager, police said. The manager told police the man was cursing and told her he didn’t want the old coffee, using a profanity to further describe the beverage. After she told him to stop, he threw the bag back through the window, hitting her in the chest. The manager was not injured. The man then pulled his truck forward, blocking other people in the drive-through lane from exiting, police said.
The driver refused to give officers a written or oral statement. Officers said the man had no prior incidents. He is scheduled to appear in North Olmsted Mayor’s Court June 16 for the disorderly conduct citation.
