Three seats on the Avon Board of Education will be up for grabs on the November ballot.

With the recent resignation of board President Susan Harrison, the remainder of her two-year term will be available.

Board member Art Goforth’s term expires at the end of this year. In October 2008, he was appointed by the board to fill former board member Angie Marsiglia’s seat after she resigned. He was elected in 2009 to fill out the remainder of Marsiglia’s seat.

Acting President Kevin Romanchok’s term also expires at the end of this year. He was elected in 2007 to a four-year term.

While the deadline to file petitions for the board seats is Aug. 10, as of July 21, the Lorain County Board of Election website showed that no one has filed to run for a board seat as of yet.

However, Goforth and Romanchok stated in e-mails last week they both intend to run for positions on the board again and that they have both pulled petitions.
