Spring is here and the city of Westlake wants to give credit for beautiful gardens. It is time to enter gardens or landscape for the Westlake in Bloom Community Beautification Competition, the city’s effort to recognize the city’s avid gardeners who beautify their homes, businesses and institutions.

Entry is free and everyone who enters will receive an invitation to the Westlake in Bloom Reception and Awards Ceremony on Aug. 11, where the winners will be announced.

Gardeners can enter their work on the city’s website by downloading an entry form or submitting one electronically at www.cityofwestlake.org/588/Westlake-in-Bloom. Residents also may pick up an entry form at Westlake City Hall, Westlake Porter Public Library or these Westlake garden centers: Cahoon Nursery, Dean’s Greenhouse, and Gale’s Westlake Garden Center.

Entries may be dropped off at the reception desk at City Hall, emailed to planning@cityofwestlake.org or mailed to:

The deadline for entering is June 25, at 5 p.m. with judging on July 6, 7 and 8.
