Lake Ridge Academy senior Connie Tian has been named a United States Presidential Scholar Candidate.
Connie, the daughter of Brian Tian and Wendy Li of Strongsville, is one of only 3,900 candidates selected for the United States Presidential Scholar Program. The program is overseen by the United States Department of Education and the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.
The program recognizes the most distinguished graduating seniors for their accomplishments in academic success, leadership, and service to school and community.
The next stage is the formal naming of 141 U.S. Presidential Scholars in May. Finalists attend a White House-sponsored medallion presentation ceremony in June.
