The 2021 Duck Tape Festival is canceled, according to a notice from the Avon Heritage Festival Committee. In place of this year’s festival, Avon Heritage is sponsoring the return of the Duck Tape Sculpture Scavenger Hunt this summer. The free, citywide scavenger hunt showcases duct tape sculptures crafted by Art Academy of Cincinnati artists.

Further details are to be announced at and on Avon Heritage social media channels.

“The health and wellbeing of our entire community remains a top priority in planning the festival,” the statement reads in part.

Avon Heritage said it recognizes Gov. Mike DeWine’s decision to allow similar festival-style events and fairs in Ohio starting in June.

“We feel it important to maintain our caution for the safety of our community,” Avon Heritage noted in a release. “This is why the Avon Heritage Festival Committee, Duck brand, and the City of Avon have collectively made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Avon Heritage Duck Tape Festival.”
