Mayor Kevin Kennedy, 54, formally announced on May 26 his candidacy for reelection to the office he has held since 2010. If he wins, it will be his fourth four-year term, making him the longest-serving mayor in city history. He was council president from 2005 to 2009.

He is being challenged by City Council President Nicole Daily Jones, 43, who announced her candidacy in early April. She has served as council president for eight years.

North Olmsted's mayor earns $111,000 annually.
