Despite temperatures in the 90s, plenty of folks were wandering around North Ridgeville Sunday for the annual Discover the Ridge event highlighting local 20 businesses and attractions. This large feathered friend wandering around the Shady Ridge Reservation probably didn’t know anything about the event, but its presence in the park is a good advertisement for visiting. Debbie McCarthy, of Olmsted Falls was checking out a trunk for her son at the Junk Monkey on Lear Nagel Road. Employees said customer numbers were about equal with pre-pandemic Sundays for the first time. At South Central Park, father and son team David and Braeden, 8, of Elyria, tried their hands at fishing in the park lake. David declined to give his last name but stated the fish weren’t really biting possibly due to the heat.
