To the Editor:

This year we celebrate North Ridgeville’s 200th birthday. The founders of our city understood and valued common public schools. One of the pillars to a strong, vibrant community is an excellent school system. On May 4, we have an opportunity to continue this excellence.

The district’s high school is rated Excellent by the state. Yet, the last approved school operating levy for new money was in 1995. Fifteen years without additional approval of new money is almost unheard of in the state of Ohio. The Board of Education has been an outstanding steward of our tax dollars.

We encourage all North Ridgeville residents to check out the facts and to vote yes for Issue 10, a 2.7-mill emergency operating levy. Let’s continue the excellence. Our children and grandchildren deserve it.
