Like many people during the lockdown of the pandemic, I used my pent-up energy and nerves to push myself out of my comfort zone. I learned something new, something that I have wanted to do for years. I became a licensed real estate agent. I spent hours in the evening and on the weekend taking 120 hours of online classes. It was hard. And there was math. I hate math.

Lo and behold, in November of 2020, I passed the state and national tests. I was stunned and happy. Did I mention there was math on the tests? Yep. (Almost) aced it all. Being a Realtor is now my evening and weekend job, and I love it (and work hard at it), just as much as I love and work hard at journalism. Which is saying a lot.
