Rockets streaking late in season

The Bay boys lacrosse team is gaining steam as the end of the regular season comes into focus. As of April 30, the Rockets had won three games in a row, outscoring those opponents, Keystone, Westlake and Akron Archbishop Hoban, by a combined 36-18. It’s a far cry from how the season started for the Rockets (7-5), who lost their first four games in a row. They’ve gone 7-1 since, their lone loss coming in overtime, 9-8, to Toledo St. Johns Jesuit on April 24. This week, the Rockets traveled to Avon on Tuesday (results weren’t available at press time), then will host Holy Name on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and head to Mentor on Saturday for a noon start.
