The Press salutes the innovators, educators and leaders on our 2018 Changemakers list. These individuals are being recognized for their unique contributions to the communities where they live and/or work. From preserving the past to modeling for tomorrow’s leaders, these changemakers are making a difference. Read on to be inspired by the work they are doing in the Westshore area and beyond.

SHEFFIELD LAKE / VILLAGE - From their first days of school through graduation and beyond, Sheffield-Sheffield Lake school students discover that learning is more than acquiring skills in reading, science and math.

Making friends, working together on teams and helping others, while not tested by the state, are skills they need for career and life success.

Throughout the year, they have shown us how their acts of kindness and caring make school a better place to be, even fun. They elevated the reputation of the district and community by excelling in robotics, performance art, sports and civic engagement. Virtually every grade level has collected food or other items for those in need, held fundraisers, and volunteered for local and international nonprofit organizations.

These photos tell the story in brief about some of their accomplishments so far this school year.
