Several local chefs will combine their talents for a great cause at the fourth annual Sunflower Soiree, Friday at Market in Rocky River.

Guests can enjoy an evening of good wine, good will and good food prepared by chefs Rocco Whalen, Anthony Dee, Joe Dubbs and Shawn Cline to benefit Prayers from Maria Children’s Glioma Cancer Foundation. The emcee for the evening is Jon Petz, renowned speaker and author of “Boring Meetings Suck.” Tickets to the 6:30 p.m. event are $150.

Whalen, of Fahrenheit Restaurant in Tremont, gained his expertise working beside Wolfgang Puck at Spago in California. Whalen has garnered praise both locally and nationally. Gourmet magazine listed Fahrenheit in its “Guide to America’s Best Restaurants,” and Restaurant Hospitality named Whalen a “Rising Star.”

Born and raised in Ashland, Ohio, Dee is currently executive chef of Prelude by Barton G. in Miami, Fla.

Dubbs graduated from Johnson and Wales University and earned an internship working for Thomas Keller at the French Laundry in Napa, Calif. He is chef and general manager of the Ironwood Cafe in Westlake.

Cline is corporate executive chef for Hospitality Restaurants. He is in charge of culinary operations at Salmon Dave’s, Blue Point Grille, Cabin Club, Delmonico’s and the Rosewood Grill.

Seating at the soiree is limited. Market is located at 1137 Linda Street.

Everyone is invited to “Uncork the Cure,” a wine and craft beer festival on Linda Street in Rocky River on Saturday, to raise funds for the Prayers from Maria Foundation. Admission to the festival is free, and tickets to the wine and beer gardens are $25 in advance and $35 the day of the event.

The festival, which runs from 4 p.m. to midnight, features a number of unique artist vendors, a bocce ball tournament sponsored by Peroni Beer and live music by the Breakfast Club. Advance registration is required for the bocce competition.

C-Town Chow Down food will be served by Jibaro Gourmet Food Truck, Zydeco Bistro, Seti’s Polish Boys, Fahrenheit, Sweet Cupcakery, Salmon Dave’s, Cabin Club. Danny Boy’s Pizza, Rocky River Brewing, Market and Rocky River Wine Bar. Thirty wineries and 20 craft breweries will be represented.
