Unlike other wrestling meets the Bulldogs have had this season, Friday’s was a “Dual in the School” as all students in attendance gathered near the end of the day for an assembly to cheer on their wrestlers.
They had plenty to cheer about as Olmsted Falls scored 29 straight team points between 126-lbs and 160-lbs including one pin (Brennan Stang over Keegan Huska), one forfeit (Jacob Toth), two technical falls (Nate Urry over Jiovenni Rodriguez and Brandon Burkhart over Gavin Beasley) and a decision win (RJ Simon over Avery Jones).
That stretch more than made up for the early 18-0 deficit after the Bulldogs forfeited at 106-lbs to Jeff Kennedy and were pinned by North Olmsted’s Searless Kean and Mahid Shoman at 113 and 120-lbs, respectively.
Olmsted Falls then dropped three decisions at 170-lbs (Teadon Beasley over Gavin Miner), 182-lbs (Maher Shoman over Chad Boskovitch) and 195-lbs (Karim Silmi over Luis Caraballo), cutting its lead to 29-27. But a pin at 220-lbs (Justin Jaeckin over Jacob Yeager) and a forfeit win at 285-lbs (Jerry White) sealed the victory for the Bulldogs.
